Beloved actor died last night from cardiac arrest caused by a “drug cocktail”
Buddy Duress, who was in GOOD Time, died at the age of 38.
Boyfriend Buddy’s brother Christopher and his coworker and friend Jay Karales both told The U.S. Sun that Buddy had died.
The death, which wasn’t made public until late February, was caused by a “drug cocktail” that included heroin that caused cardiac arrest.
Jay paid tribute to the movie star on X, which used to be Twitter.
“This man was a real treasure.” Buddy Duress was without a doubt one of the funniest people I’ve ever met, and his stories were the best, he wrote.
When I saw him in Good Time in 2017, I thought, “That’s what acting needs to be like in the future.” “That guy,” he went on.
“He brought a certain authenticity and charisma to the screen that you just don’t see anymore,” Jay said.
“It was a dream to get him in Mass State Lottery, and I feel privileged to have been his director and his friend,” he said.
TWICE AS GOOD
Buddy was in the movies Good Time with Robert Pattinson and PVT Chat with Julia Fox.
When he got into trouble with the law in the summer of 2019, the actor’s career was on the rise.
The New York Post says he was sent to Rikers Island jail on charges of grand larceny in the third degree and spent time there.
The news source said he was sent there 10 times for charges ranging from having heroin on his person to identity theft.
He was also there when his mother called the police to say that he had stolen checks and faked her signature for $3,000, which happened in 2019.
“THIS IS CRAZY”
Fans of Buddy shared their sadness on Reddit and other social media sites.
“Man, I loved him in Good Time. On a fan forum, someone wrote, “May he rest in peace.”
“This is crazy.” He can act well. Poor thing. “May he rest in peace,” said a second person.
“Man, he would’ve gone so far. “Rest in peace,” said a third.
“May he rest in peace. He was great in both Good Time and PVT Chat.” “Very sad,” said someone else.
