Child Star found dead in the woods in Kansas
Cole Brings Plenty, a rising star known for his roles in “Into the Wild Frontier” and “The Tall Tales of Jim Bridger (1923),” tragically passed away at the age of 27.
Cole gained widespread acclaim for his role as Pete Plenty Clouds in “1923,” the prequel to the popular TV series “Yellowstone.” In the Paramount+ series, he portrayed a dedicated sheepherder who fiercely protected his family and traditions during difficult times like the Great Depression and Prohibition.
The last time Cole was seen was on March 31, 2024. Police were alerted to an apartment in Lawrence, Kansas, after neighbors reported hearing a woman screaming for help. Cole was identified as a suspect in the incident, prompting authorities to issue an arrest alert. Concerned for his safety, Cole’s family reported him missing. Mo, his uncle, shared a missing person poster on Instagram and indicated that Cole had last been seen leaving Lawrence in his 2005 white Ford Explorer on April 31.
Cole Brings Plenty’s body was discovered in Johnson County on Friday. Authorities were alerted to an abandoned car on Homestead Lane near Edgerton. Upon investigating, they found Cole’s body in the woods near the vehicle.
The Lawrence Police Department had been actively searching for Cole following reports of child abuse. The exact circumstances surrounding his death are still under investigation.
